It is my opinion that when Nachshon entered the Reed-Sea he recited the Kaddish Prayer -קדיש of the Sanctification and Exaltation of G-d’s Name.
This opinion is supported by the following:
·       Nachshon- נחשון     = 414
·       Kaddish-       קדיש   = 414
Thus Nachshon entered the Sea up to his neck, recited the Kaddish Prayer in total faith in Hashem, sanctified the Name of G-d and then the miracle of the splitting of the waters occurred.
My Rabbi and Teacher Rabbi Avraham Sutton writes:
The word kaddish means sanctification. Whenever we say the Kaddish, we intend to sanctify God’s Name in the world, to proclaim our belief in His existence, His oneness, and His providence, and, if necessary, to die for this belief. Through Kaddish we literally draw down greater and greater revelations of God’s oneness into the world. Kaddish has the power to dispel darkness. Kaddish is thus like an elevator that we enter at certain key junctures in our prayers, as a means of lifting us up to the next level of prayer. As we get closer and closer to Hashem in our prayers, we peel off the illusion that there is anything else but God. This is exactly the function of Kaddish.
The Sephardic version of the Kaddish Prayer reads thus (translation Rabbi Sutton):
