And Pharaoh awoke suddenly
Beraishit 41.4- בראשית
4.’And the ill-looking and lean-fleshed cows ate the seven cows of fair appearance and of healthy flesh; And Pharaoh awoke (caused him to awake) suddenly -וַתֹּאכַלְנָה הַפָּרוֹת רָעוֹת הַמַּרְאֶה וְדַקֹּת הַבָּשָׂר אֵת שֶׁבַע הַפָּרוֹת יְפֹת הַמַּרְאֶה וְהַבְּרִיאֹת וַיִּיקַץ פַּרְעֹה (6547+14 words=6561=18).
The verse can be divided so:
· And they ate the cows- וַתֹּאכַלְנָה הַפָּרוֹת(1203+2 words=8);
· The ill-looking and lean-fleshed- רָעוֹת הַמַּרְאֶה וְדַקֹּת הַבָּשָׂר(1944=18);
· The seven cows of fair appearance and of healthy flesh-אֵת שֶׁבַע הַפָּרוֹת יְפֹת הַמַּרְאֶה וְהַבְּרִיאֹת (2829+6 words=2935=19=10=1);
· And it awoke suddenly- וַיִּיקַץ(216=1+8 or + 1 word=10=1);
· Pharaoh- פַּרְעֹה (355+1 word=14=8).
Rashi comments here that the verse teaches us that all the joy of plenty would be forgotten and superseded by the days of famine.
The gematria of the word “and they ate”- וַתֹּאכַלְנָה is 512=8.
This word can also be understood as referring to the future "and they shall eat".
And he awoke suddenly- “Vayaikatz”
216=1+8 or + 1 word=10=1
The number 216 corresponds to the letters in the Explicit Name of Hashem learnt from three verses in Parshat B'Shalach before the division of the Reed-Sea at the time of the Exodus (72*3). See my commentary there.
The number 216 also corresponds to the volume in Tefachim (6*6*6) of the Two Tablets of the Testimony to be received by Moses and the Children of Israel at Mount Sinai after the Exodus from Egypt.
The number 216 also corresponds to the 54 (*4 letters) ways of permutation of the four letters of the Name "Hashem"-יהוָה.
Pesach it is to Hashem
פֶּסַח הוּא לַיהוָה
According to the principles of the "Reverse Calendar" that I have developed "Pesach to Hashem" in the World of the Heavens corresponds to Shemini Atzeret on Earth.
This word "Vayikatz”- וַיִּיקַץ can also be read in the future tense-"and Pharaoh will awake suddenly". This happens again in the night of the slaying of the first born-Pesach- פֶּסַח when Pharaoh awakes in the middle of the night in a panic and sends out the Children of Israel in haste at the end (Shmot 12.30-31 and 41):
30.’And Pharaoh awoke at night, he and all his servants-וַיָּקָם פַּרְעֹה לַיְלָה הוּא וְכָל עֲבָדָיו (746=17=8) and all Egypt- וְכָל מִצְרַיִם (996+2 words=26=8) and there was a great wailing in Egypt - וַתְּהִי צְעָקָה גְדֹלָה בְּמִצְרָיִם (1670 + 4 words=1674=18 counting final Mem as 600); for there was no house where there was no dead- כִּי אֵין בַּיִת אֲשֶׁר אֵין שָׁם מֵת (1845=18).
31.’And he summoned Moses and Aaron at night- וַיִּקְרָא לְמֹשֶׁה וּלְאַהֲרֹן לַיְלָה(1709=17=8 counting final Nun as 700) and said to them “Leave from the midst of my people, you as well, and the Children of Israel- וַיֹּאמֶר קוּמוּ צְּאוּ מִתּוֹךְ עַמִּי גַּם אַתֶּם גַּם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל (2222=8)and go and worship to Hashem as you have spoken- וּלְכוּ עִבְדוּ אֶת יְהוָה כְּדַבֶּרְכֶם (1417+5 words=1422+1+8 counting final Mem as 600).
41.’And it was at the end of thirty years and four hundred years-וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה (2377 + 8 words=2385=18); and it was on that very day- וַיְהִי בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה (311+4 words=1+8) that all the legions of Hashem left the land of Egypt- יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת יְהוָה מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם (2763=18 counting final Zadik and Mem as 900 and 600).
In other words when Pharaoh had his dreams at this time Hashem had already planned the end of Egypt and the Exodus of the Jewish People. This we can understand from the word “and he suddenly awoke”- וַיִּיקַץ this means also there will be a sudden end (awakening).
Joseph’s release from prison “at the end of two years” corresponds to the release of the Children of Israel from Egypt many years later.

· Is in the First Thought- “B’Machshava Tehilla”- במחשבה תחילה(810).
