בְּרִית שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה

וַיֵּרֶד יְהֹוָה בֶּעָנָן וַיִּתְיַצֵּב עִמּוֹ שָׁם וַיִּקְרָא בְשֵׁם יְהֹוָה:
וַיַּעֲבֹר יְהֹוָה | עַל־פָּנָיו וַיִּקְרָא יְהֹוָה | יְהֹוָה אֵל רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם
וְרַב־חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת: נֹצֵר חֶסֶד לָאֲלָפִים נֹשֵׂא עָוֹן וָפֶשַׁע וְחַטָּאָה וְנַקֵּה לֹא
יְנַקֶּה פֹּקֵד עֲוֹן אָבוֹת עַל־בָּנִים וְעַל־בְּנֵי בָנִים עַל־שִׁלֵּשִׁים וְעַל־רִבֵּעִים

5. ‘And Hashem descended in a cloud and positioned Himself there, and He proclaimed with The Name- וַיֵּרֶד יְהוָה בֶּעָנָן וַיִּתְיַצֵּב עִמּוֹ שָׁם וַיִּקְרָא בְשֵׁם (2051=8) “Hashem”- יְהוָה! (26=8).

 

6.’ And Hashem passed over His face [overcame and transformed His attribute of justice] and called out, “Hashem! Hashem! El (Loving God), rachum (merciful)vechanun (and gracious), erekh (patient) apayim (kind-faced, slow to anger);verav chesed (bestowing love abundantly) ve’emet (and truthfully) - וַיַּעֲבֹר י יְהוָה |עַל פָּנָיו וַיִּקְרָא יְהוָה | יְהוָה אֵל רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וְרַב חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת (2413 =10=1).

7.’ Notzer chesed (safeguarding the good deeds [of the great-grandparents])la’alafim (for thousands of generations); nosei avon (forgiving sin), vafesha(rebellion) vechataah (and error), venakei (and cleansing); He remembers the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and upon the grandchildren, upon the third and fourth generation.'-נֹצֵר חֶסֶד לָאֲלָפִים, נֹשֵׂא עָו‍ֹן וָפֶשַׁע וְחַטָּאָה וְנַקֵּה לֹא יְנַקֶּה פֹּקֵד עֲו‍ֹן אָבוֹת עַל בָּנִים וְעַל בְּנֵי בָנִים עַל שִׁלֵּשִׁים וְעַל רִבֵּעִים (4321=10=1).
