Hairy and Smooth Skinned

11.’And Jacob said to Rivkah his mother, 'Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man and I am a smooth-skinned man- וַיֹּאמֶר יַעֲקֹב אֶל רִבְקָה אִמּוֹ הֵן עֵשָׂו אָחִי אִישׁ שָׂעִר וְאָנֹכִי אִישׁ חָלָק (2691 =18). 

The verse can be divided so:

·         And Jacob said to Rivkah his mother- וַיֹּאמֶר יַעֲקֹב אֶל רִבְקָה אִמּוֹ(824=14=8);
·         Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man- הֵן עֵשָׂו אָחִי אִישׁ שָׂעִר(1331=8);
·         And I am a smooth-skinned man- וְאָנֹכִי אִישׁ חָלָק (536=14=8 or + 3 words=17=8).

The number 1331 is the gematria of the words "Covenant between the Parts"-ברית בין הבתרים.

There Abraham divided goats among other animals into two halves corresponding to the defeat of the nations that rise against Israel at the End of Days (Beraishit Ch. 15).

The slaughter of the goats by Abraham corresponds to the defeat of the nations of Edom. 

Abraham foresaw through prophecy the birth of Esau and Edom even before Isaac was born. This he must have related to Isaac his son.

The gematria of the words “hairy man”- אִישׁ שָׂעִר is 881=17=8.

The number 881 is the gematria of the word “Exodus from Egypt”-יצאת מצרים.

Esau the evil son was to be “sacrificed” as were the firstborn of Egypt at the expense of Jacob, the good son, so that Israel would be redeemed from Egypt despite the efforts of Lavan (Bilaam) an adviser to Pharaoh to prevent their Redemption.

The gematria of the words “smooth skinned man”- אִישׁ חָלָק is 449=17=8.

·         Hairy-         שָׂעִר =570

·         Smooth-    חָלָק =438
