The Wings of the Cherubs

הַכְּרֻבִים פֹּרְשֵׂי כְנָפַיִם

Shmot 25.20שמות  

20.’And the Cherubs shall have wings that spread upwards (raised high next to their heads-Rashi), sheltering (screening) with their wings the Kaporet (lid), and their faces (facing) one to another; Toward the Kaporet (inwards) shall be the faces of the Cherubs -וְהָיוּ הַכְּרֻבִים פֹּרְשֵׂי כְנָפַיִם לְמַעְלָה סֹכְכִים בְּכַנְפֵיהֶם עַל הַכַּפֹּרֶת וּפְנֵיהֶם אִישׁ אֶל אָחִיו אֶל הַכַּפֹּרֶת יִהְיוּ פְּנֵי הַכְּרֻבִים (7533=18 counting final Mems as 600).

The verse can be divided so:

·         And the Cherubs shall have wings that spread upwards- וְהָיוּ הַכְּרֻבִים פֹּרְשֵׂי כְנָפַיִם לְמַעְלָה (1269=18);

·         Sheltering with their wings the Kaporet- סֹכְכִים בְּכַנְפֵיהֶם עַל הַכַּפֹּרֶת (2282 + 4 words = 18 counting final Mems as 600);

·         And their faces one to another- וּפְנֵיהֶם אִישׁ אֶל אָחִיו (558=18);

·         Toward the Kaporet- אֶל הַכַּפֹּרֶת (736+2 words= 18);

·         Shall be the faces of the Cherubs –יִהְיוּ פְּנֵי הַכְּרֻבִים (1008counting final Mem as 600).
