Genesis-3.8- בראשית 3.8

8.' And they heard the Voice of the Hashem G-d walking in the Garden in the direction that the sun was travelling (cool of the day); and the man and his wife hid themselves from Hashem G-d in the midst of the Tree of the Garden -וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ אֶת קוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים מִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּגָּן לְרוּחַ הַיּוֹם וַיִּתְחַבֵּא הָאָדָם וְאִשְׁתּוֹ מִפְּנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים בְּתוֹךְ עֵץ הַגָּן (4064=14=8).

The verse can be divided so:

·         And they heard the Voice of the Hashem G-d walking in the Garden-וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ אֶת קוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים מִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּגָּן (1631+7 words=18);

·         In the direction that the sun was travelling- לְרוּחַ הַיּוֹם(305=8);

·         And the man and his wife hid themselves from Hashem G-d-וַיִּתְחַבֵּא הָאָדָם וְאִשְׁתּוֹ מִפְּנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים (2602=10=1 counting final Mems as 600);

·         In the midst of the Tree of the Garden- בְּתוֹךְ עֵץ הַגָּן (646+3 words=19=10=1).

Rashi comments here that the Voice of Hashem came from the direction from which the sun had come, from the west. As Man and Woman had sinned in the 10^th hour of sunlight the sun was in the west (Beraishit Rabbah 19.8; Sanhedrin 38.b).

The Voice of Hashem G-d

קוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים

248=14-8 or 808+3 words=811=10=1 (Mem 600)

The numbers 248 and 808 are the identical gematriot for the name “Abraham”- אברהם. From here we learn that the rectification will come through Abraham. The mission of the Final Redemption was given to Abraham. The Mashiach will be a re-incarnation of Abraham the first Jew. Abraham without question obeyed the "Voice of Hashem G-d" as he was created in the “Image of G-d”:

In the Image of G-d

בְּצֶלֶם אֱלֹהִים

Where is "in the midst of the Tree of the Garden"- בְּתוֹךְ עֵץ הַגָּן where they hid? This is “the Tree of Life in the midst of the Garden”- עֵץ הַחַיִּיםבְּתוֹךְ הַגָּן as written in verse 2.9 above:

In my opinion they went to hide inside "The Tree of Life"- עֵץ הַחַיִּים,The Tree of The Garden situated in the midst of the Garden, as they were seeking the "antidote" for their action – the Torah/Instruction. The Torah corresponds to the Tree of Life as it is written (Mishlei 3.18):

It is a Tree of Life for all those who cleave to her

עֵץ חַיִּים הִיא לַמַּחֲזִיקִים בָּהּ וְתֹמְכֶיהָ מְאֻשָּׁר

3448+7 words=3455=17=8 (final letters)

Moreover in Parshat Vaetchanan when Moses beseches Hashem to forgive him and let him enter the Promised Land we read (D'varim 4.4):

4.’But you that cleave to Hashem your G-d you are all alive today- וְאַתֶּם הַדְּבֵקִים בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם חַיִּים כֻּלְּכֶם הַיּוֹם(981=18).

The gematria of the words “that cleave to Hashem”- הַדְּבֵקִים בַּיהוָה is 189=18.

The gematria of the words “you are all alive today”- חַיִּים כֻּלְּכֶם הַיּוֹם is 239+3 words=242=8.

Thus Adam and Chava ran to hide in the Tree of Life, to cleave to Hashem and to seek “instruction”- Torah how to repent so as not to die as a result of their “cunning” action which had stripped them “naked” in all senses of the word. They also repented by returning to the Tree of Life.

Further support of this opinion is found in the gematria of the word "girdles"- חֲגֹרֹת   , which they made and is the last word of the previous verse which has an identical gematria as the word "Torah"- תורה. Thus the girdles that they made for themselves were "girdles of Torah" חֲגֹרֹתתורה   .

·         Girdles- חֲגֹרֹת   = 611=8

·         Torah-     תורה = 611=8

1222+2 words=1+8

From here we learn that there was path open for Rectification and ultimate Redemption. This is the "Path of the Tree of Life"- דֶּרֶךְ עֵץ הַחַיִּים (457+3 words=460=10=1).

What were the “girdles”- חֲגֹרֹת made from?

In my opinion they were made from strips of parchment growing on the Tree of Life that were sown together. These strips of parchment form the "Body" of Torah.

They knew that they had been stripped naked through cunning and were now seeking refuge in the Tree of Life; they were clinging to Life itself, the Torah. 

Thus they took Torah with them written in the Code of "Hai" when they fell from Eden.

The Mission on Mankind is to learn the inner Torah so as bring about the Final Rectification of the World.

This Mission will be completed by Mashiach (Shem Hai) at the End of Days.

Genesis 14-The War of the Kings

 

1.’ And it was in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedarlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim- וַיְהִי בִּימֵי אַמְרָפֶל מֶלֶךְ שִׁנְעָר אַרְיוֹךְ מֶלֶךְ אֶלָּסָר כְּדָרְלָעֹמֶר מֶלֶךְ עֵילָם וְתִדְעָל מֶלֶךְ גּוֹיִם (3235+14 words=3249=18).

Rashi states that Amraphel- אַמְרָפֶל was Nimrod who had told Abram to fall into the fiery furnace (Eruvin 53.a). Goiim (nations) - גּוֹיִם is the name of a place where people from many nations gathered and appointed Tidal-תִדְעָל as king over them (Beraishit Rabbah 42.4).

Chedarlaomer- כְּדָרְלָעֹמֶר king of Elam is the eldest son of Shem who joined sides with Nimrod and rebelled against his father.

The joint gematria of the names of the four kings:          

Amraphel-                  אַמְרָפֶל  =351

Arioch-                        אַרְיוֹך   =237

Chedarleomer-      כְּדָרְלָעֹמֶר  =564  

Tidal-                           תִדְעָל  =504

1656=18

The joint gematria of the names of their kingdoms is:

·         Shinar-                        שִׁנְעָר =620
·         Ellasar-                       אֶלָּסָר =291
·         Elam-                          עֵילָם  =150

 2.’They made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinav king of Admah, and Shemever king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela-which is Zoar- עָשׂוּ מִלְחָמָה אֶת בֶּרַע מֶלֶךְ סְדֹם וְאֶת בִּרְשַׁע מֶלֶךְ עֲמֹרָה שִׁנְאָב מֶלֶךְ אַדְמָה וְשֶׁמְאֵבֶר מֶלֶךְ צְבֹיִים וּמֶלֶךְ בֶּלַע הִיא צֹעַר (4608=18).

Rashi comments that “Bera”- בֶּרַע means evil to Heaven and to people as derived from the word “evil”- רַע; “Birsha”- בִּרְשַׁעmeans that he ascended to wickedness as derived from the word “wicked”- רְשַׁע; “Shinav”- שִׁנְאָב means he hates his Father (G-d) as derived from the words “hate”-שנא and “father”-אב; "Shemever”- שֶׁמְאֵבֶר means that he “attached”- שם a “limb”-אֵבֶר to himself giving him the ability to fly and jump and to rebel against G-d. “Bela” is the name of a city.

In my opinion Zoar- צֹעַר was also the name of the fifth king. This is proven by the joint gematria of the five names:

·         Bera-                               בֶּרַע  =272
·         Birsha-                         בִּרְשַׁע  =572
·         Shinav-                         שִׁנְאָב  =353
·         Shemever-                 שֶׁמְאֵבֶר =543
·         Zoar-                              צֹעַר  =360

The Mission of Mankind to be fulfilled by Mashiach

The mission of Mankind (purpose of Creation) is to unify the Name of Hashem ("Hai") which had been divided at the first moment of Creation; when this mission is completed the status of Mankind will be at an even more elevated level than that of man and Woman before their fall. The lowly snake will be left behind and thus thoroughly vanquished. The Rectification of the Name of “Hai” means death to evil, Darkness and the Primordial Snake.

The lower Man and Woman caused the Snake to fall the more elevated position Mankind would eventually rise to. By eliminating evil/darkness completely all that will be left is pure light, the Hidden Light that is stored away for the Righteous at the End of Days.

Thus Man and Woman through their “cunning” were to cause the Primordial Snake to fall from its exalted position in the Metaphysical World to become the lowliest of animals in the physical world, eventually allowing for Mankind to ascend to a level even higher than Eden.

As it is written (Mishlei 24.6):

6.' For with trickery you shall make war; and in the multitude of counselors there is salvation-

כִּי בְתַחְבֻּלוֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה לְּךָ מִלְחָמָה וּתְשׁוּעָה בְּרֹב יוֹעֵץ 

(4283=17=8 counting final Zadik and Kaf as 900 and 500).

They thought they could achieve this mission in their time…in this they erred, as the mission is given to Mashiach- משיח whose name was created before time itself, before the Name of “Hai” was divided, before the creation of the Snake, before the creation of Man and Woman.

This explains why the word “Mashiach”-משיח (358) has the same gematria as the word “Snake”-נחש (358) and can be rearranged to spell “Shem Hai”-שם-חי (358). It is the task of the Mashiach to reunite the Name “Hai” of Hashem and by doing so will eliminate “Snake”/Darkness forever.

The number 1018 just happens to be the gematria of the first line of the most recited prayer of faith of the Jewish People in their G-d, the Shema Prayer:

8. ’Six days you shall eat Matzot (unleavened bread) and on the seventh day shall be an “Atzeret”- restraining (assembly) to Hashem your G-d, you shall not perform work- שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֹּאכַל מַצּוֹת וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי עֲצֶרֶת לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה מְלָאכָה(5932=19=10=1 counting final Mem and Kaf as 600 and 500).

The verse can be divided so:

·         Six days you shall eat Matzot (unleavened bread) - שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֹּאכַל מַצּוֹת(2807=17=8);

·         And on the seventh day shall be an “Atzeret”- restraining (assembly) to Hashem your  G-d, you shall not perform work- וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי עֲצֶרֶת לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה מְלָאכָה (3285=18 counting final Mem and Kaf as 600 and 500).

The word “Atzeret”- עֲצֶרֶת is usually used in connection with the Festival of Shavuot-שָׁבֻעוֹת עֲצֶרֶת as it is another name for the Harvest Festival which is detailed in the following section of text. 

The word is also used in relation to the “extra day” (8^th day) of the Succoth Festival known as “Shemini Atzeret”- סֻּוכּוֹת עֲצֶרֶת.

Here we see too that the last day of Pesach is also called Atzeret- פֶּסַח עֲצֶרֶת.

Thus all three Foot-Festivals are connected to the word “Atzeret”- עֲצֶרֶת

The word “Atzeret”-עֲצֶרֶת means “restrain” or “stop” and on these days we are commanded to stop at Jerusalem which is the mid-point of the Universe and there we are to commune and thank Hashem for His Blessings and redeeming us from Egypt.

This conclusion is proved by the following gematriot:

Pesach-Atzeret-                                        פֶּסַח עֲצֶרֶת    =908 =17 =8

Shavuoth-Atzeret-  שָׁבֻעוֹת עֲצֶרֶת                                         =1538=17=8

In this blessing the word "building" is used in relation to the "eternal edifice" so as to reproduce the "Image of Hashem"- the human being- through procreation.

 This is done through the union of man and wife which contributes to the Unification of the Name of Hashem-Hai- ח"') 18) which means "Life".
