The Ten Utterances
עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת

Our Sages teach us that the World was created with “10 Utterances”- עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת (Avot 5.1):

The world was created through Ten Utterances, and what does that mean to teach since the world could have been created through a single utterance? In order to augment the punishment of the wicked who destroy a world as great as this that was created through Ten Utterances, and to give good reward to the tzaddikim “Righteous”, who sustain the world created through Ten Utterances.

 בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם. וּמַה תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר, וַהֲלֹא בְמַאֲמָר אֶחָד יָכוֹל לְהִבָּרְאוֹת, אֶלָּא לְהִפָּרַע מִן הָרְשָׁעִים שֶׁמְּאַבְּדִין אֶת הָעוֹלָם שֶׁנִּבְרָא בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת, וְלִתֵּן שָׂכָר טוֹב לַצַּדִּיקִים שֶׁמְּקַיְּמִין אֶת הָעוֹלָם שֶׁנִּבְרָא בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת:

From the above we see that the Act of Creation through 10 Utterances was the manifestation of the Code of Life, the separation of the physical world from the Eighth Sphira, the Metaphysical World.  As we have seen above this separation came about through the constriction of Divine Light emanating from the “Ain Sof”.

These 10 Utterances correspond to the 9 times that it is written “And G-d [Elokim] Said”- וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים in the first 7 paragraphs of the text of Creation.

We must ask what then is the 10^th Utterance in the passage of Creation detailed in the Torah?

The Talmud (Rosh HaShanah 32) teaches us that the 10^th Utterance is the first word of the Torah “Beraishit”- בְּרֵאשִׁית “In the Beginning”

:

רַבִּי יוֹחָנָן אָמַר, כְּנֶגֶד עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת שֶׁבָּהֶן נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם. מַאי נִינְהוּ? אִילֵימָא "וַיֹּאמֶר" דִּבְרֵאשִׁית, הַנֵי תִּשְׁעָה הַווּ! "בְּרֵאשִׁית" נַמִי מַאֲמָר הוּא, דִּכְתִיב, (שם לג) "בִּדְבַר יהוה שָׁמַיִם נַעֲשׂוּ"

In my opinion the 10^th “Utterance” is a combination of the word “Beraishit”-בְּרֵאשִׁית the first word of the 1^st paragraph of the Torah as taught by Rabbi Yochanan and the the words “and G-d Blessed”- וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִים the first words of the 8^th and final paragraph of the Act of Creation (2.3):

3.’ And G-d Blessed the Seventh Day and He Sanctified it; because in it He abstained from all of His work - וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִיםאֶת יוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי וַיְקַדֵּשׁ אֹתוֹ כִּי בוֹ שָׁבַת מִכָּל מְלַאכְתּוֹ(4932=18 counting final Mems as 600), which G-d created to make-אֲשֶׁר בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים לַעֲשׂוֹת (2156+4 words = 2160 =1+8).

Thus the 10^th Utterence is a combination of the first and the lastUtterance as in the Eighth Sphira the beginning and the end are one. By reading the first word last and the last words first we form the sentence:

And G-d Blessed In the Beginning

וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִים בְּרֵאשִׁית

This opinion is proven by the joint gematria of all the above:

·         And Elokim Blessed in the Beginning- וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִיםבְּרֵאשִׁית=2277=18 (Mem 600 Kaf 500)

·         And Elokim Said*9                                                וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים = 8127=18(Mem 600)

2277+8127=10404=1+8

The number 10404 corresponds both to the word “Kedem”-קדם (144) which means “Origin” the first point of time before separation of the physical world from the metaphysical world and the word “Truth”-אמת (441).

As I have shown that the Shabbat before the Creation is connected to the Shabbat after Creation as a “double day in two halves” we learn that Hashem “Blessed the Beginning” at the end!

This is a simple explanation of the Metaphysical World in action. The blessing was written at the end but said at the beginning, and said at the beginning and written at the end.

In actual fact they are said and written at one and the same instant as in the Metaphysical World there is no distinction in time as everything is One at the mid-point of the “Ain Sof”.

This point is further proven by the joint gematria of the first and last word of the Act of Creation:

31.’ And G-d saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, The Sixth Day- וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה וְהִנֵּה טוֹב מְאֹד וַיְהִי עֶרֶב וַיְהִי בֹקֶר יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי (3065=14=8 or 4185=18 counting final Mems as 600).

Rashi comments here that the prefix “The” is added to the Sixth Day- הַשִּׁשִּׁי (at the end of the period of Creation) to teach us that Creation is brought into existence for the condition that Israel accepts upon themselves the Five Books of the Torah.The gematria of the letter Heh- ה' is 5 (Tanchuma 1). Alternatively, all of the components of Creation were in a state of suspension until the Sixth Day of Sivan 2448 (Shabbat) the Festival of Shavuoth/Atzeret when Israel received the Torah on Mount Sinai (Shabbat 88.a). 

In my opinion these two comments can be amalgamated and understood as follows:

The ultimate purpose of Creation, the combination of the Metaphysical (8) and the Physical (1) Worlds, “The World of the Heavens” and “The World of the Earth” is to be revealed at the end of “THE” Sixth Day when Israel returns to Hashem in repentance and accepts upon itself to uphold the Torah. The Metaphysical World is in a state of suspension to be joined to the physical world and there will be a New Beginning. This will be the Shabbat that is all good-שבת שכולו טוב. Thus we can comprehend why the entire Creation Process up until this verse is written in thefuture tense. There is something bigger and better yet to come; the veil of darkness shall be removed from the physical world and the Hidden Light of the Metaphysical World will be revealed at the time of Israel’s Final Redemption. This will be on Shemini Atzeret, the Eighth Day of Shavuoth, Pesaqch L'Hashem!

Thus it is written “The Sixth Day”- יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי and not “a Sixth Day”- יוֹם שִּׁשִּׁי. It is a promise of the future, The Sixth Day before the entrance of “The Seventh Day”- יּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי “that has Shabbat IN IT”- כִּי בוֹ שָׁבַת as we read in the following verse.

The Sixth Day is connected to The Seventh Day as is shown by the following gematria:

יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי-יּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי

This is why on the Shabbat eve we begin the Sanctification “Kiddush” of Shabbat with the words

And there was evening and there was morning, The Sixth Day

וַיְהִי עֶרֶב וַיְהִי בֹקֶר יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי

1307+6 words=1313=8

This is why Hashem called this day “Very Good”- טוֹב מְאֹדbecause the ultimate purpose of Creation was about to come into fruition and Hashem could finally rest on the Shabbat, the Eighth Day.

The words “Very Good” are a precursor to the combination of the Physical and Metaphysical Worlds as is shown by their gematria:

The gematria of the word “Man”-“Adam”- אָדָם is 45=1+8 or + 1 word=10=1.

The word is comprised of the letters:

·         Aleph-    אָ        =1

·         Dalet-     דָ        =4

·         Mem-     ם =40=4

The number 144 is the gematria of the word “Origin”- קדם “Kedem” and the number 441 is the gematria of the word “Truth”-אמת “Emet”.

Thus Man’s Origin was Truth.

As Man was destined to rule over the entire earth the following observance can be made of the letters that spell “Adam”- אָדָם “Man”:

·         Abraham-   אָ ברהם =248=14=8

·         David-                דָ וד =14=8

·         Mashiach-     ם שיח=358+1 word=17=8

The number 620 is the gematria of the word “Crown”-“Keter”-כתר   the highest level of the Eighth Sphira. The number 620 written backwards 260 which is ten fold the gematria of the NameYKVK “Hashem”- יְהוָה It is the task of these three individuals who were/are/will be Kings to rectify the Sin of Adam and return the Crown/Keter to Israel and enter with them into the Metaphysical World.

The first and last letters of the first and last names are encrypted in the Code of 1 and 8 as are the first and last letters of the name David:

This is can be represented so:

When the Mashiach explains the inner Torah to the world there will be much joy.

Yom Shlishi the 3^rd of Tammuz 5774.

The 3^rd of Tammuz 5774 marks the 20^th anniversary of the passing of the Rebbi of Lubavitch, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Shneersohn.

May his memory be blessed and his merits protect us.

I have just learnt (entry of the 3^rd of Tammuz 5774) that the bodies of the three Jewish children kidnapped on the 16^th of Sivan 5774 have been discovered in Halhul Hebron.

They were murdered by Hamas terrorists and the world was silent!

14.’ Thus says Hashem: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel is weeping for her children- כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה קוֹל בְּרָמָה נִשְׁמָע נְהִי בְּכִי תַמְרוּרִים רָחֵל מְבַכָּה עַל בָּנֶיהָ (2600=8 or 3160=10=1 counting final Mem as 600), refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are missing-מֵאֲנָה לְהִנָּחֵם עַל בָּנֶיהָ כִּי אֵינֶנּוּ (543+6 words=18).

The joint gematria of the names of the three boys is:
